Our Mission
With a population of 137 million, Nigeria, Africa's most populous country,
is blessed with abundant agricultural and mineral resources and a dynamic
citizenry, but is in dire need of national integration of her diverse
ethnic and religious groups if she is to develop. The mission of the Dominican
University is to answer Nigeria's needs for national integration and holistic
development.
Our Vision
- To be a University with a Catholic identity;
- a community of scholars into which academically qualified students
will be admitted without discrimination as to religion, sex, nationality
or ethnicity;
- an academic community where the academic and religious freedom
of each member will be held as sacred;
- an academic environment where the unity of the human family under
God and the command to love all people are promoted in the spirit and
practice of openness and dialogue between different religious and ethnic
communities in view of Nigerian national integration;
- a curriculum that reflects and respects the autonomy and complementarity
of faith and science, religion and secular thought, combining ancient
wisdom and contemporary learning to form graduates whose faith, professional
competence and respect for human values can harness and manage Nigeria's
abundant human and natural resources for the development of the country.
